Gentilhomme by Weil c1966

Gentilhomme by Weil: launched in 1966, in USA in 1967. Created by Jean-Pierre Weil.



Fragrance Composition:



So what does it smell like? It is classified as a woody fruity leathery fragrance for men. It begins with a green and bright citrusy top, followed by a fresh spicy heart, resting on a leathery, woodsy base.
  • Top notes: bergamot, mandarin, galbanum, lemon, green note, ginger, lime
  • Middle notes: juniper, petitgrain, verbena, carnation, jasmine, hay, herbs de Provence
  • Base notes: oakmoss, leather, musk, cedar, tonka, ambrette, Egyptian vetiver
 
The original Gentilhomme (La Lavande Gentilhomme) was released in 1944, and was the renamed Un brin de lavande.

In 1950, the Lavande Gentilhomme range was expanded to include a Lotion and a Secret de Venus oil formulation (called simply Lavande).

In 1951, Lavande Gentilhomme was replaced by the name Lavande Bleue.  

In 1962 Lavande Bleue was discontinued and replaced by Gentilhomme. 

In 1966, a new line of Gentilhomme was released and discontinued in 1983.

Fate of the Fragrance:


Gentilhomme was ultimately discontinued in 1983.
